One of the most puzzling questions posed to human civilization is, does kindness even matter? Social Darwinism points to a rough truth that most of the so-called achievements of the human race were borne out of violence and not kindness. Therefore, is the human race a predominantly violent race with no space for kindness?
A study from the US is proving this theory wrong. The study states that communities that practice altruism are more likely to survive the longest than those who don’t. This extends of course, to personal relationships. So the next time you’re thinking of saying something unkind, think of survival. In the next few decades, your quality of life would also be dictated by the behavior of people around you.
Established in 1995, The International Coach Federation has become the biggest international conglomeration of professional coaches. To date the Lexington, Kentucky-based non-profit organization has over 17,000 members in the 90 countries it is recognized in. In their mission statement the ICF says that they are in existence to advance the art, science and practice of professional coaching.
The ICF establishes formality in the coaching profession by offering credentialing programs for coaches. The company provides three different levels of credentialing, which requires specific hours of training and experience for each level. The highest level is the Master Certified Coach (MCC), followed by the Professional Certified Coach (PCC), and the Associate Certified Coach (ACC). The ICF also has as a database for all its member coaches throughout the world which can be accessed by the public.
If you’re planning of taking many trips back and forth the country, then you might want to consider travel insurance. Travel insurance policies make claims easier; at least you have a second party to handle most of the paper work. In addition, you have someone else to handle most of the work involved.
Take note of the amount of money you’re spending on your flights and the price of the insurance. However, if you were planning to use hundreds of dollars as you hop from one country to another, it would be a very good idea to get travel insurance. Travel insurance also takes care of expenses that suddenly come up.
Today when you search the internet for available personal coaches, you’d be surprised at the number of coaches who offer all sorts of coaching services. A lot of people have decided to take up coaching as a profession because of the numerous benefits it brings. Let me cite a few of them.
First of all, most clients prefer coaching sessions to be done over the phone. This is more convenient for coaches too as they no longer need to set up an office for meetings. Personal coaches are also self-employed and this is very attractive for a lot of people as you decide your hours of work.
This also means that you can accept as much or as little clients you want or need. There is of course the financial aspect of coaching wherein experienced mentors are able to charge a high price for their services. These are just a few benefits of coaching and surely there are more out there.
If you’re wondering where the dollar still rules, then you’re in luck. Tourism is badly needed in many places in the world, and all you have to do is to place your dollars where it would matter the most. For example, Iceland is a particularly wonderful place to visit. If you’re looking for that wonderful European feel without the hustle and bustle of modernity, then tour Iceland.
Korea is also suffering from the worldwide meltdown. Brush up on your conversational, tourist Korean and visit the serene places in Korea. Feed your mind and tummy with Korean culture; they would appreciate it, since Korea is suffering massively from bad production and unemployment.
Years into their specific field, a lot of people find themselves lost and unsatisfied after they realize that for one reason or another, the job they have is just not right for them. If you’re one of these people and you feel that now is the time for a fresh start then you may want to look into personal coaching; specifically, business or executive coaching.
According to The Coaching Academy, the largest coach training facility in the UK, one of the fastest growing business skills in the world is coaching. A lot of reasons may cause the demand for nurses, engineers, or even IT professionals to dwindle, but there will always be a need for coaches. Organizations will always have employees, no matter what the economic condition is, and they would want their workers to be the best they can be. This is where personal and business coaches come in as they strive to get the best out of these employees. So again, if you’re looking for a new career, you may want to check this one out.
Everyone wants to be frugal nowadays, and it’s no surprise since everyone is affected by the recession. However, let it be said that the most affected entities are not individual folks but large businesses. Large businesses, without the hard-earned bucks of folks like you and me, are bound to collapse.
That’s why there’s a new business trend called recession marketing. Slash prices more than half, offer the best amenities and hope the volume of consumers make up for lost profits. Therefore, if you have extra money and you still want to travel, be a good “recession” traveler and look for the best deals. You won’t have to settle for the worst hotels anymore; even the good ones are offering sensible deals, just for now.
There are a lot of good material to go through if you want t learn about personal coaching. The internet offers a lot of articles and write-ups about it and if you drop by your local book store, I’m sure you’d come across a handful of books regarding the subject matter. One of the best books available is Kaye Throrn’s “Personal Coaching: Releasing Potential at Work.”
The book is quite an easy read and it focuses on personal coaching in the workplace. In her book, Thorn is able to use and apply coaching techniques usually used for executives and upper management to everyone in the organizations. The methods presented by the author are specific but at the same time is able to encompass all the layers within a given organization.
Few people know that sleeping habits around the world are as unique as fingerprints. Every race, ethnic group and nationality practice different sleep habits and have differing opinions about chronic sleepyheads.
For example, in Kenya no one would be bothered if you rested your head and slept even in the middle of the day, in the midst of activity (this is true for certain nomadic tribes, not city dwellers). In Spain, people normally sneak away for a short nap if they’re feeling drowsy from an afternoon meal. This applies to certain parts of Southeast Asia as well.
In the United States, it appears that sleep is limited to nighttime, when all the work is finally done. Sometimes, the cycle is reversed for night workers. How about you, how do you sleep?
For coaching sessions to be effective, you must be able to express everything to your coach. And without trust and integrity established, this would be quite difficult to do. This is why when looking for a coach, it is important that you find someone you are willing to confide in.
Finding a personal coach is not at all difficult; it’s finding the right one for you that may pose a challenge. A simple Google search will give you a list of established personal coaches, complete with their credentials and testimonials. Personal coaching is now very popular so coaches market their services through various means such as brochures, directories, and different forms of media.
However, I believe that recommendations from friends are the most reliable source. Look for friends who may have had experience in being coached and ask for their advice. After all, I’m sure you’d rather take your friend’s word than some stranger from an internet forum, right?
